When you met your husband years ago in college, you found his vast comic book collection charming and his dizzying array of Star Wars figures carefully stocked away in their own individual boxes absolutely endearing. Then you got married and moved in together. As a bachelor, he had these collections proudly displayed in his living room over the fireplace, but as a married man he needed to find a more “subtle” place for them…like in the attic or the garage. There was no chance in heck you were going to have comic books out there for all your friends, family and the in-laws to see. No way.
Since he readily complied with your wishes and only brings up his past obsession when new comic-inspired movies come out, why not reward him with a playful set of Classic Spider Man Cufflinks. Inspired by the classic Spiderman of the 1960s and 1970s, these cufflinks will be a more acceptable way of showing his love for comics than actually displaying them nailed to the wall for the entire world to see. Think of it is your way of saying “I love you for who you are, but I would like you to love things in a more sophisticated and adult way.” You might not want to write those exact words on the card, of course. “I love you always” will suffice.
